HS Automation took part in Rockwell Automation’s Industrial Cybersecurity Forum, held at the Customer Experience Center in Bologna. The event provided an opportunity to explore in depth the issues that are significantly reshaping the design and management of industrial plants.
A key focus of the discussion was the evolving European regulatory framework, from the NIS2 Directive to the EU Machinery Regulation and the Cyber Resilience Act, as well as the increasingly central role of cybersecurity across the entire industrial value chain.
From regulations to real-world projects
During the event, HSA joined a panel discussion alongside GEA Procomac and Indinvest LT. The discussion brought together practical experience gained in OT environments, examining some of the challenges that can arise during industrial cybersecurity projects, the difficulties encountered during implementation, and the results achieved once the initiatives are underway.
This is particularly relevant because, in industrial environments, cybersecurity cannot be approached solely as a matter of regulatory compliance. It requires an in-depth understanding of production plants, network infrastructures, automation systems, and the operating practices in place across manufacturing facilities.
Bringing together different areas of expertise
The round-table discussion that followed the panel broadened the conversation further, bringing together end users, machine builders, Rockwell Automation technical specialists, and marketing managers.
The different perspectives provided an opportunity to explore both the technological and regulatory aspects of cybersecurity, as well as the operational and organizational implications of introducing cybersecurity strategies in OT environments.
The event offered a valuable opportunity to engage directly with professionals who are already developing and implementing cybersecurity projects in the field, and to address the subject through real-world experience rather than through regulatory interpretation alone.
